Check out what other Mom's are reading over at Life as Mom. The book of the Month was A Million Miles in a 1,000 years by Donald Miller. I read that back in 2010. I had hope to re read it this month but it didn't happen. I think it is the kind of book that needs a couple of reads depending at where you are in your life. Here is my review.
Both of the Selections I read this month were heavily recommended by others. The 1st was the Hunger Game Trilogy. I don't think I would of read these without a push from others. I ended up really enjoying the series and I thought just wasn't for teens. However, it did give me some nightmares. It definitely not a genre I usually get into. The Hunger Game movie comes out March 23rd.
Secondly, I read Cutting for Stone by Abraham Berghese.
Marion and Shiva Stone are twin brothers born of a secret union between a beautiful Indian nun and a brash British surgeon. Orphaned by their mother’s death and their father’s disappearance, bound together by a preternatural connection and a shared fascination with medicine, the twins come of age as Ethiopia hovers on the brink of revolution.
Moving from Addis Ababa to New York City and back again, Cutting for Stone is an unforgettable story of love and betrayal, medicine and ordinary miracles—and two brothers whose fates are forever intertwined. - Amazon

I was able to borrow this electronically through my local library. It was a good story about an area of the world that I am not overly familiar with - Ethiopia. The story was a little wordy for my taste. I found that I wanted it to unfold a little faster. All in all a great story.
