Wordy Wednesday - Nuclear Edition

Is it just me but farmer's market and nuclear waste should never appear together?  Does the produce glow? As usual, I have questions.

Moving Diaries - Tragic Backyard

Well the good news is we have a great big back yard. Bad news is it looks pretty tragic.  It is also full of this evil weed called goat head.  We can't let our dog out there.  So what needs to be done is number 1 we have to burn the whole yard.  Burning is one way you can rid the yard of goat heads.

Enter torch and propane. I think my husband enjoyed this even though it was already quite warm. What man doesn't like to play with fire!

While we were at the local hardware store we spotted a sticker picker upper.  I asked the clerk if this worked. We are now the proud owners of a sticker picker upper.

My mom thinks the log pictured below looks like a elephant leg.I guess this was once a "Tree of Heaven".

We have a lot of these volunteer Tree of Heaven growing along our fence line. A thinning needs to occur. It is the only actual green thing in our yard.

Weekly Roll - How I Gave My Whole Family the Plague

The family who stays in the same small Air BNB will get the same wonderful mucus inducing cold. They say sharing is caring. I care an awful lot.

My friend shared this on her Facebook page so I thought I would repost. It makes me smile.

Get a new dining set just so your gigantic bear has some where new to sit. I love my kid but sometimes the bears sitting places just creep me out. He was really proud though he found a new spot for his bears to sit.

Moving Diaries - Reunited Never Felt So Good

Last week, our stuff finally showed up. Hallelujah.  Reunited never felt so good.

We have been without our household goods for a month. Living out of your suitcase and what you could pack in 2 cars is not horrible. Initially I really didn't miss my stuff.  However, it is hard to not have exactly what you need and improvise.

I actually miss some stuff I can never get back like all the plants I gave away. I was watching Retro Plant Shop on Discovery Plus and man did that make me miss my plants.  I also need Joanna Gaines sister. I am willing to be adopted. LOL My Mom and Dad got me a housewarming gift of some plants. Now they need names

I had a friend that did like an experiment where they only wore a capsule wardrobe for 30 days, I was living that. It was hard to pack for 2 different climates - rainy/cold and temperature of the sun. I am glad to have more choice in clothing.

I am loving being reunited with my computer printer. I have been using the library for my photocopy needs but now I need to bust out a big printing job with sensitive personal info and I would like my printer.

It is hotter than hades but living the AC life also gets cold. I miss my quilt my best friend made. I am glad to have it back.

I have questions so many questions. What constitutes a designated library emergency? My friend questioned why this was basically in a median.

Moving Diaries - Hotter than Hades or FIRST thing in the morning

*** Wrote this last week.

MOVING is an adventure they said. We are still waiting on our furniture, so we have decided to some painting. As we were working in our new to house.  We noticed that it was warmish, and the temperature kept rising. People, they call that a clue. We left for the day, but we decided to come back later. It was even warmer. We call the AC people. Supposedly our unit is only two years old. So, first company says we have to call the original. company. So here I sit.

It seems like every repair person we have called says they will be there first thing in the morning. I don't know what the time is for first thing in the morning. Is that 8 o'clock, 9, 10? They don't give definite times. Where I lived previously, they usually said between 9 and 12 and then proceed to show up at like 12:01. Well the eager beaver, I am arrived at 7:30 and as I type this it is 10.  It is currently 89 in my house and 85 outside. It is suppose to reach like 100. Luckily I am sitting on the enclosed porch with a strong wind blowing.

UPDATE - it is now 1130 and 91 degrees in my house and I am abandoning ship so to speak. I found out that my time is now between 1230 and 430. I am hot and annoyed. I have a cold so I am REALLY hot and annoyed.

UPDATE 2 -  12:31 the repair person arrives. Hallelujah! Leaking Freon is my new band name. Good news is that it is temporarily fixed.

I have a confession I am terrible at tying my shoes. My husband frequently ties my shoes. So, the sentiment doesn't stand for me.

Moving Diaries - Glittery Thrones

Well how do I put it, our new house has a glittery toilet seat.  Somehow this seems appropriate for someone who has a blog named after a honeypot. I totally didn't remember this in our walk through. Granted we only were in the house one time before we purchased it. I will discuss why this is probably not a good idea in a future diary entries. This glittery toilet is off the master bedroom and we are giving this room to our oldest son.

Picture above is a before photo.  The tile is an interesting speckled purple/burgundy color. My son chose a good vibes type of decorating theme and it seems to work.  I am going to work on some diy art work for this space.

Towels, rug and shower curtain is all from Walmart. My youngest son is the one in the picture.

The new seat in all her glory. One project down and a 100 more to go.

Moving Diaries - Vacation Rental Cooking

My husband has been working out of state off and on during the pandemic staying at extended stay hotels and a studio apartment. He has allergies to onions, peppers, and garlic so eating out is pretty limited. He does a lot of cooking and these short stay places. During our move we are staying at a cute air bnb which has a full-sized stove, full-sized refrigerator, and microwave. It is pretty equipped but as I showed in my weekly roll it has margarita glasses but no paring knife.

Things that my husband bought to make his life easier to cook

instant pot

large skillet with lid

nice knife

plastic containers

Menu for the past week

Pizza - bought

Chicken Bacon Subs - I made them individual on stadium/philly rolls (Instant Pot Shred Chicken)

Chicken Sesame Pasta Salad a little ingredient heavy but it is something my hubby can eat.

Hamburgers - no grill - oven frozen hamburger patties

Sheet Pan Pork Chops with Apples
