Printmaking with Recycled Materials

Big E's Army Men
I have a huge stash of Styrofoam egg crates. (Don't ask)  Doesn't everyone have a huge stash?  I saw this great tutorial link though Learning through Art on making prints with Styrofoam.  So, we gave it go.  I cut out the top of the crates into squares.  The kids and I made drawings with pencil into the foam.

Then we used a foam roller to apply acryllic paint to the Styrofoam. Then we stamped.  I have to say it worked pretty well.  The kids were less impressed.  They didn't quite get that your writing had to be backwards on the stamp.  It wasn't a complete failure.  We got some interesting prints.
