Did everyone survive Christmas?

The only Christmas picture I have.  I am not sure what is happening here.

Weekly Roll

Large Paper Beads made with wrapping paper

Are you ready for Christmas?  I don't know here.  This is a season that always makes me feel behind.

Missing Person - Jonathan Hoang - Crime Stoppers has increased the reward. Jonathan is missing from Western Washington. I think this is solvable. I have shared this before.

Damask Love Epic Cookie Gifting Box - confession I have yet to make any cookies for the season.

World's Best Cookies - this is my favorite to make

Inappropriate Thoughts

We have been walking our dogs after dinner.  We got them rechargeable lighted collars. They strobe. We are calling them the doggo police. We only walked once with the strobe. It is hard on the eyes.

Deep Thoughts

A friend told me she was playing this every morning lately. It is hard to shut out the noise of the season.

Christmas Collections

I have a small shiny brite collection.  For a few years, I have displayed it in a similar way on top of my china cabinet.

I also have a collection of small trees.  It might be a sickness.  I have shown remarkable restraint this year.  My best friend sent me two homemade trees.  They are so cute, and I bought 2 bottle trees from Dollar General. I just realized I also bought two paper honeycomb trees. I told you I had a problem.

Lastly, I really like snowflakes, and I have a good mix on my tree.

Wordy Wednesday

I was at the Briscoe Western Art Museum and I saw this quote.

"History is not everything, but it is a starting point. History is a clock that people use to tell their political and cultural time of day.  It is a compass they use to find themself on the map of human geography. It tells them where they are but more importantly, what they must be."

What I Read in December

I am linking up with Modern Mrs Darcy's Quick Lit.  Check out what everyone else is reading. I am rounding out my reading year with a fiction book.

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

The setting is Sowell Bay in Washington State.  This is a unique book. This talks about a relationship between Tova, elderly widow and an octopus, There is a mystery. I thought this was great book and highly recommended. I guess there is going to be a Netflix Adaptation.

Christmas Paper Chains - I guess this is trending. I like this low-cost decoration.

Rolled Paper Bead Garland - a riff on the paperchain

Paper Vines- another alternative to the paper chain.

Inappropriate Thoughts

No free turkey in the mail this year for Nonna.  All of us were surprised that the misaddressed turkey did not arrive.  I know many people had questions if we received it this year.  Sadly, we did not.

Deep Thoughts

I have been wearing a heart monitor for a month. I am so glad as of Saturday I am free of it.  My chest might be permanently sticky.  It feels a lot like DIY medicine but isn't technology great. I live in the middle of nowhere, but I can have my heart monitored remotely.

Advent Practice

I have been marking what years
I have read Luke in my bible
NIV

It is not too late to start reading the gospel of Luke. I try to read a chapter a day starting December 1st.  It is a way I calm my mind in this busy season.  It isn't fancy. I have collected some commentary I usually have stuck in that chapter.  Every year, I walk away learning something new. I actually started on December 2.  If I catch up great.  If you choose to do this don't over complicate it.

Wordy Wednesday

For our book club, we read Between Two Kingdoms.  We had an opportunity to have an author meet over zoom on Monday.  The above quote really stood out to me as well.
