Deep Thoughts

Nope Autism is not caused by Tylenol.  It is just disrespectful to all those who are on the spectrum it insinuates that being autistic is some kind of drug induced birth defect. I believe that autism is a lot more complex than that with genetic and environment components. Moms already receive enough blame without this thrown in too.

30 years

This is one of my favorite pictures from our wedding 30 years ago. The photographer was pregnant and had no idea we were going to silly string the well-wishers.  In hindsight she should of let her know.I can't imagine doing this life without my husband.  We definitely had some adventures. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Pumpkin Shelfie- First Day of Fall

Well not quite a shelfie but a display on top of my china cabinet. I thought a pumpkin display would last me into November. This is all stuff I have in my collection.

Inappropriate Thoughts

The Saturday before last I was at the library meeting. It was quite dead in there.  Ha ha.  I was the only one who showed. We had a rainstorm monsoon while I was there. I decided after the lights flickered that I wasn't interested in sitting in library with flickering lights. It was creepy. I know not very brave for a genealogist.

What I Read September

I am linking up with Modern Mrs Darcy's Quick Lit.  Check out what everyone else is reading.

Go as a River by Shelley Read

This is one of Jen Hatmaker's selections for her book club. I am not a member, but it sounded interesting as it was set on the western slope of Colorado.  This is a coming-of-age story, Victoria/Tori has a chance encounter with a stranger, Wilson Moon that alters her life. The story is set on a peach farm in 1948 and is also inspired by the true event of the destruction of the town of Iola. It took me a minute to get into this book, but I was unable to put this down.

The Mysterious Case of Rudolf Diesel by Douglas Brunt

Raise your hand if you didn't know the Diesel Engine was invented by Rudolf Diesel.  I had to check this book out 3 times.  This one was a slow burn for me.  Rudolf Diesel supposedly committed suicide by jumping off a ship crossing the English Channel.  His engine would shape WW1 as it was used in submarines and German U-boats.  Rudolf Diesel didn't plan on his engine being used for war. As it came closer to World War 1. Everyone wanted Rudolph Diesels invention and more than that the expertise that Diesel brought to the table. This included Churchill to the Kaiser.  Douglas Brunt did a great job of researching Rudolf Diesel. Douglas Brunt puts forth his proof and theory what really happened to Rudolf.  I think his theory is possible.

NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF REHAB YOU SUCK!

I am very angry at NM Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.(DVR)  I don't know if I can even put into words how disappointed and frustrated, I am with this government agency. I just need to let it out.

I was broken when my son said, "They say I have to keep in contact with them to keep my services but how is that any different than nothing."  It gutted me.  Trust between my son and this agency has been broken. I am sorry I ever got my son involved with this agency because they broke my trust too.

Throwback Thursday

Dec 17, 2017

In honor of the Air Races this week in neighboring Roswell NM.  I thought I would share an aviation photo.  This is from the trip to PYB Naval Museum on Whidbey Island. I am pretty sure I misspelled Whidbey on this Project Life Layout.   It is now called the Pacific Northwest Naval Museum and has moved to Oak Harbor, WA.

Air Races Roswell NM

The National Air Races start this week in Roswell NM.  Our town, Artesia, is a bit hyped about the upcoming races.  I don't know if we are the FLYest city in SENM. We are expecting some people to stay here in Artesia.  They sold roughly 60,000 tickets. That is the population of the entire county where the races are being held for the first time. Toto the races aren't in Reno anymore. LOL

 Inappropriate Thoughts

This image has lived rent free in my head.  As a middle age closet inappropriate Blazer fan, I just couldn't stop thinking about this.  Of course, seat 5 is the best but only if Brooke takes the aisle seat.  I don't want to talk over Brooke to talk to Dame.  My first choice was 3 next to Deni. He is hot and seems like a really nice guy.  Or I could sit in seat next to DC, seat 2, and we could talk about his puppy, Ollie, but I don't know what I would say to Yang.  Yang is not quite proficient in English.

Junk Journaling

It has been a quiet week.  It has felt boring. I hate when my kids say I am bored. I haven't been bored for a long stretch in a while. It feels uncomfortable. This doesn't mean I didn't do anything. I tried to launch the creative spark.  Tried a bit of Junk Journaling. The things still have to be done. Isn't that the lovely thing about adulting?  I know things will be busy again and this is just a tiny slump.

My most favorited postcard

Well I have been doing Postcrossing since May.  Postcrossing is basically a postcard exchange. It has been fun. This week I have mailed postcards to Taiwan and Canada. It is a fun hobby.
