Sometimes a honeypot is a welcome sight but when it is outside your dining room window it is urban blight.

Inappropriate Thoughts
I totally don't have the rights to post my nephew's picture BUT I have a bone to pick with the Denver Zoo. What do Aliens have to do with wildlife? Maybe they know like Roswell, NM aliens sell. Aliens and Tepees is a new twist, however. I kind of feel like Aliens are the universal welcome committee.

Side Quest with 2 Eighty Year Olds
I was lucky to have my parents for Easter. I took them to Sitting Bull Falls. I have been here once before. We drove about an hour to the falls. The falls are fed by a spring. The rock picnic shelters were built by the conservation corps. There is a paved path with a viewing platform. It is rare that I just get to spend time by myself with my parents.

I am so proud of the young people in my life taking on new adventures - new jobs and college graduations. Change sometimes comes fast and it is hard for me to keep up.

What I Read April
I am linking up with Modern Mrs Darcy. Check out what everyone else is reading. I have accepted that I am in a season of slow reading. Does that happen to anyone else?
Challenger by Adam Higginbotham
I read this as the astronauts were finally being brought back to earth. I just kept thinking about how it was amazing NASA has been able to have any successful missions. I think the quote below sums up the Challenger disaster and this book.
This is a very detailed book. I probably wouldn't have picked this one on my own, but I read this as part of a book club. I learned a lot about the Challenger and NASA's space program. It was eye opening and how could this be allowed to happen. I also learned some new words.
The ethos of there is more to this story and Adam delivers - the slow creep of acceptable risk, over confidence in technology, the politics.

Throwback Thursday
I looked back on my blog and I have never shared this picture before. It is at Devil's Backbone. The Devil's Backbone is a rock formation know as a hogback. I am in back in the picture. My Dad is in tan Fodor. So much boy power in this photo. This was during our Spring Break.
I love this picture of my dad. We had a great hike to come up here.
