What I learned September

I am linking up with Chatting at the Sky's "What I Learned " linky

1.) 95 Young Looks Pretty Good.
Pappy celebrated his 95th Birthday.  He is the young man in the lower right corner.  Pappy is a WWII Vet, too

2.)  I Can Write with a Deadline

I learned I still have enough material to write another 31 days.I have learned from the past that I do best if most of my series is pre-written.  I don't write well under pressure. This is really an intense experience. My 31 Day Series is going to be called Diary of a Mediocre Homemaker. This goes live Oct 1st.
Some of my previous 31 day series have been - 31 Days to a Better Office Space ,31 days of Little Things, 31 Days of Adventure, You Might Be Homemaker

I think my favorite so far has been the 31 Days of Adventure.

3.) Words Bouncing Around My Brain

This is Beth Moore Tweet kept bouncing around my brain for the later part of September. I have a number of things on my plate that are causing me dread.  I too have learned that dread drains energy and can leave you paralyzed.  Unfortunately these are things I have to do so I am learning to push forward.

Diary of a Mediocre Homemaker Series

Dear Diary

I am joining Write 31 Days. I am doing my 31 Series on Diary of Mediocre Homemaker. So, for everyday in October you can expect a post.  I mean it to be funny and informative.  I will be sharing my misadventures, observations, and tips learned mainly through errors in Homemaking.

Linky Love

The One Conversation That Could Save Your Teens Life ( Or Yours). This gave me a lot of thinking material.  We tell kids a lot about what they shouldn't do but we don't tell them exactly how to avoid peer pressures.

Happy 20th Anniversary

It is hard to believe that we have been married for 20 years.  There is no one else I would rather be on this journey with.  It has been quite the adventure.

What I read September

*** I am linking up to Modern Mrs. Darcy's Quick Lit .  Check out what everyone else is reading.

It is Fall at last and my reading has picked up as the weather has cooled.  It also helped that we lost our electricity so I got lots of reading done.

I finally read Me Before You.  This should of come with a Kleenex warning. This has been on my to read list for quite a while. In part JoJo Moyes  based this on a true story.  This book is about euthanasia and I had known that from the outset I don't know if I would of read it.  I am glad I did.  The book made me think about that subject differently. The book is set to be made into a movie released spring of 2016.  The movie is to star Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin.

I also read One Plus One by JoJo Moyes as well.  This one to me took a bit to get into.  I loved the ending and the point about finding people own tribe. This is a book about a single mom just trying to get her daughter to a Math competition in hopes that she might win and attend private school. They take a remarkable quirky interesting road trip to get to this math competition.

Other books I enjoyed by JoJo Moyes

The Girl left Behind - This is actually my favorite.

So it Begins...

Today is the first day of school for my kids.  It is hard to believe I have a Senior and a 7th grader.  They weren't thrilled with my hash tag signs but a Mom has to have a little fun.  My sister said that they look like they are sleeping.  I am betting they wish they had more sleep.

We even had a faint rainbow to start off our day.
