My son enjoys getting outdoors. We asked him what he would like to do for his birthday. He suggested taking lunch to Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge. The last time we visited it was more towards the winter. The desert did not disappoint with lots of wildflowers. We enjoyed walking all the trails.
Bitter Lake Wildlife Refuge is known for its dragonfly's, and we actually saw a lot of these on the Dragonfly trail. It is really hard to take photos of dragonflies. We also saw lots of birds. This is a pretty time of the year to visit.
