52 Ancestors - Shock

I am joining Amy Johnson Crow's 52 ancestors in 52 week writing project.

I have fallen behind or none of the recent prompts seem to merit a 52 Ancestors story.  This week's prompt is shock.

Aaron Teegardin/Teagarden is my 5th Great Uncle born to George and Rachel Teagarden.  Aaron was married to Frances. They had a 11 children.

Centennial celebrations for the Declaration of Independence were to be held in Philadelphia in 1876. Aaron Teegardin(Teagarden) had planned on attending after all; he was born on July 4, 1776. There was a slight problem however he wasn't born in 1776 but April 8, 1786. It was discovered that his twin brothers, Isaac and Abraham were born in 1776 neither were alive in 1876. After this was discovered, Aaron Teagarden decided not to attend after his true birthdate was revealed.

This information was found on Ancestry.com posted from a Teagarden family history book. I wonder how shocked his family were to discover that he wasn't 100 years old and his birthdate wasn't July 4. How many years had he told people that he was born July 4, 1776. Aaron Teagarden died at the age of 93 in 1879.

Aaron Teagarden is my 4th Great Uncle.

*** Side Note aka fun facts

The Centennial celebration was basically crashed by the National Woman Suffrage Association.
