What I Read October

I am linking up with Modern Mrs. Darcy's quick lit.  Check out what everyone else is reading. Well my fall reading started with a book club book about Roy Cohn.

American Scoundrel by Kai Bird and Susan Golmark

To be quite truthful I didn't know much if anything about Roy Cohn. Roy Cohn is a complicated person with a long reach in American politics.  Kai Bird and his wife do a good job of exploring connections from McCarthy to Trump and in current politics today.  We had an interesting book discussion. Roy was lawyer who personal mantra was, "Don't show me the evidence, show me the judge."  He began in the very beginning by being a corrupt prosecutor.  He had a lot of influential friends.  He was friends with mobsters, Barbara Walters, Nancy Reagan, mentor to Trump. This is a good read and well researched.
