52 Ancestors - Same Name

I am participating in Amy Johnson Crow's 52 Ancestors writing project.

I have 4 Samuel Bonds in m family tree on my father's side. 3 of the Samuel Bond's are my 6th, 5th, and 4th Great Grandfather's. The last Samuel Bond is a Great Great Grand Uncle.

The Bond lineage is quite well document in the North American, Family Histories. I come from a long line of Quakers.

Quakers, also called Friends, belong to a historically Christian (Protestant) denomination known formally as the Religious Society of Friends. Members of the various Quaker movements are all generally united by their belief in the ability of each human being to experientially access the light within, or "that of God in every one". Some profess the priesthood of all believers, a doctrine derived from the First Epistle of Peter. They include those with evangelical, holiness, liberal, and traditional Quaker understandings of Christianity .

(straight from Wikipedia)

My 6th Great Grandfather, Samuel Bond (1753-1812) was married to Elizabeth Beal who was a prominent Quaker minister as was her father. They resided in Surrey County, South Carolina. They had 12 children a lot is know of Samuel Bond's last days as there a record/journal kept. It is quite the dramatic retelling. Samuel Bond died at age 60.

Samuel Bond Jr (1786-1858) was married to Charity Beeson and both were quite active with the Friends meeting. Shortly after being married moved to Wayne County, Indiana. In 1823, Thomas was appointed overseer for the New Garden Friend Meeting. Samuel and Charity were the parents of 9 children.

Samuel Bond (1811-1863) son of Samuel Bond Jr and Charity Beeson. He married Mary Harold and after her death married Elizabeth Comer. Samuel and Mary had 5 children. Samuel resided in Wayne and Hamilton County Indiana.

Lastly, Samuel B Bond (1878- ?) is my great great grand uncle. He was the son of Barclay Bond and Elizabeth Thornton. Barclay is brother to my Great Great Great Grandmother Flora Ellen Bond . He is the only Samuel Bond who was not a Quaker. Samuel grew up in Kansas but spent his adult life in California. In the 1920, 1930, and 1940 his occupation is listed as a cement finisher/worker. Samuel was married to Anna "Daisy" Mills. They had 1 child.
