Wordy Wednesday - Eyeball Edition

 

I like to use eyeball décor for Halloween. I transformed my chalkboard . I used a stencil I cut out with my cricut to help me chalk this one. 

I have a vase full of baseball eyeballs on my entryway table.  All the frames are dollar store or goodwill.  The prints are ones I created or photocopied.

You know I need to add to my seasonal eyeball decor. This board has chalkboard paint on a scrap piece of wood and the writing is in chalk. I did a bit of tracing on this.

I made my little chalkboard with eek.  I think it turned out great. My chalkboard is just a piece of scrap lumber sprayed with chalkboard paint.  I used regular chalkboard chalk.

I usually use just regular chalk or sidewalk chalk.  However, I am really fond of this type of chalk pen   I found it to be the cheapest at Walmart.

There are also chalk pens that come in colors as well.There is everything from neon to gold and silver.

There is even chalk pencils.  These don't get dark enough for my liking but are fun to add highlights with the pencil.

Word to Your Mother - Chalkboards Part 1

I am a long time fan of Chalk Boards.  With chalk board paint, you can turn anything into a chalk board.  Chalkboard spray paint is relatively cheap. I have used scrap board. I have this long piece of scrap wood turned chalkboard that I have used in my outdoor entryway and indoor foyer.

I have a permanent chalkboard with a fancy frame that my husband made over my kitchen window out of reclaimed wood and recycled bullet brass. Details can be found here.

I have used cardboard.  Over time, cardboard isn't the best choice but it was a low investment. (Like a really low investment since it was recycled cardboard) This chalkboard was shaped like a conversation bubble. Kids really like it.
