Blogging Anniversary

I started this blog on a whim in 2007. The name was inspired when the school district left a port a potty in visible view of my dining room. First Post Here. So I have been blogging for 13 years. 13 is my lucky number as well.

I don't know what the future holds. It feels like change in the air. Every time I have tried to quit blogging I have come back. I have too many stories to tell. 

Baker River Trail

Baker River Trail is near Baker Lake. It is about 1 hour and 40 minutes from our home. I went with my oldest son and best friend. None of us had ever hiked this trail. The trail dead ends in a campground along the baker river. I have to say the highlight of this trail is the AMAZING log bridge.

It also had an amazing pit toliet at the campground. It was totally open air.

Today's gem is a little funny from the funnies. Today is my blog anniversary.  I have been blogging for 5 years.

In case you didn't know, my blog is named after an out house that was placed against my fence way back in 2007.   This is the post that started it all. I have collected a lot of related honeypot funny stuff.  A couple months back this cartoon, Tundra, ran in the paper. It cracked me up.  So this is my little funny for the day.

This blog has been an amazing outlet for me.  I can't believe I have been blogging for 5 years. My best Friend made me this exploding Honeypot that I have sitting on top of my desk- Honeypot Central.  Someday I am going to do a video of  it exploding.

 

Squirrel Moment #1001

We saw this Santa's Outhouse at Big Lot's .  Which brings me to a squirrel moment. 

Who in the heck puts this on their tree? What kind of OTHER ornaments are on there?  Go ahead and let that marinate in your brain. I know my whole blog is named after the view of a honeypot BUT does outhouse say Christmas to you.

Lucky girl that I am, I received this picture of a honeypot in my email.  I kinda collect weird  pictures of Honeypots.  Hey, I have a blog called MY VIEW OF THE HONEYPOT.  This was sent to me by my dear hubby.  I am pretty sure you have to have a sense of humor to be in the portable toilet business.

Geo Monster Ball 2011

We had a blast at the Geo Monster Ball 2011 held in Lynden, WA.  It was a geo caching event. 

Geocaching is a real-world outdoor treasure hunting game. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS-enabled devices and then share their experiences online. (from geocaching.com )

We met lots and lots of  people from all over. It was the first time for us to do an event like this. It was really neat to meet others at all the different caches. We all had to swap stories. It also good for us novice cachers to get more info.

This was Nonna and Pappy's first time caching.They were such good sports.  They spent the whole day helping us geocache.

The first cache of the day for us was Lettuce Go Caching.  The clue was in a plastic lettuce. The title of this one just cracked me up. 

A lot of the caches were in plastic food. There were also a few in plastic hands.

Pappy even discovered a cache in a giant spider. 

The end of day, we all met up at the Lynden Pioneer Museum which no one in our group had ever been to. It really is a gem.  I would like to go back when it isn't packed as they have a replica of Main Street.One of the best parts was it had a honeypot.  Of course, I had to get my picture by it.

We ate dinner there and explored the museum. Many were there in costume both adults and kids. It was a lot of fun. We completed a scavenger hunt for clues to coordinates where there was one last cache. Unfortunately it had a few us stumped for quite a few minutes. But alas someone had better geo sense than us.

All I Want for Christmas

I saw this in Lowes with Mrs Epi.  I need my own inflatable Honeypot complete with Santa.  Do you think my neighbors would think I was redneck? It even has a roll of toilet paper on the outside and Santa opens and closes the door.  I  loved the occupied written on the door. We got a giggle from a Lowes Employee for taking these pictures. Maybe I should start a collection so I could add this lawn blowup to my lawn.

I am not sure if Spanky is really an appropriate name for a Port a Potty

The name on this port a potty cracked me up. I am pretty sure I am the only person who goes to San Diego and takes a picture of a port a potty. But my blog is named after a port a potty so maybe it is not that far outside the realm of possibility.
