Raised Cut Flower Bed

I am going to preface this.  I don't know what I am doing. I had a pallet cut flower garden that really never panned out.  I asked my husband to replace it and this is what he came up. This was my mother's day gift. I have really been inspired by #growkindness by Twig andVine on instagram.  She grows cut flowers and gives them away.

Raised Bed with my plantings
We decided to add a drip line.  We had a little trial and error but I think we got it figured out. I am growing dahlias, cosmos several varieties, 2 varieties of Calendulas, and 3 varieties of zinnas.  I looking forward to the flower bounty.

Freshing up my Love Gallery Wall - Day of 100 day of creativity

I thought I would give you a glimpse at my "Love" gallery wall.  I decided this gallery wall needed something more. It is at the top of my stairs so it is a bit of a challenge to get a good photo of the wall. My hometown is Loveland, Colorado so I incorporated a lot of the Loveland Valentine Card Art. The scrabble piece is from my best friend Mrs Epi that incorporates all our names. I fell victim to the Hobby Lobby 75 percent off sale last week. and bought the love lives here and scroll metal heart. I thought a $8 refresh wasn't a bad deal.

Just a few close ups of some of the pieces on my wall.

All about the Bundt

The thing about cooking shows is sometimes they make you HUNGRY!  We were watching the kids baking show and they were making monkey bread.  It sounded so delicious.  I haven't made that in YEARS and I didn't own a bundt pan but made mine in a angel food pan.  It was delicious. One of the drawl backs of the angel food pan is it doesn't release very well . But the monkey bread was delicious.

Out and about I was at Ross and they had bundt pans for as little as 5 bucks.  I thought that was a steal.  Here are some of the recipes that I have made in my bundt pan.

What I Read May

I am linking up with Modern Mrs Darcy's Quick Lit.  Please check out what everyone else is reading.
Raise your hand if you are waiting for the SUMMER READING GUIDE by Modern Mrs Darcy that releases later this week.

Reading People by Anne Bogel

finally got my hands on Reading People by Anne Bogel.  Unfortunately or fortunately I get 99% of my reads from the library.  IT TOOK THEM AN ETERNITY TO GET THIS BOOK! I was so happy to get a chance to read this book.  I am a big admirer of Anne.  This book is all about personality and how it shapes us. The book does a great job of illuminating personality type and our interactions with others  I can say this a book that I need to keep coming back to.  There is a lot to process in it. I came away with so much.  I have some highly sensitive people in my family and that section was illuminating to me.  I also identify with Anne that I always thought I was a planner but really I just more of a researcher.

Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Daisy Jones and The Six was one of Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine book club picks.  I don't think this is a book I would normally pick up.  It is the story of a fictional band in the 70's.  I thought it was told in a interesting way.  It has received enormous hype.  I waited several months on the hold list at my local library.  I thought the book got deeper closer to the end. There was some real meat there. I love the quote below. This story sticks with you.

Passion is ...it's fire. And fire is great, man. But we're made of water. Water is how we keep living. Water is what we need to survive. My family was my water. I picked water. I'll pick water every time.

Oh by the way, Spotify has a Daisy Jones and The Six playlist.

Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness

This is part of the All Souls Trilogy.  This was recommended by my sister to me. This reminds me of a cross between Harry Potter and Twilight but in a way grown up version. I admit I am not usually drawn to this genre but A Discovery of Witches was pretty hard to put down. I read it over a few days and am the wait list for the next book in the series.
