December Daily - Snow Day

We had for "reals" a snow day here in western Washington.  Cody decided to give sledding a try with our boogie board.

You can take a kid out of Southern California but you can't take the Southern California out of the kid.  He was also wearing rubber boots.  I have neglected to buy snow boots the last couple of years due to our mild winters.

Hey everyone needs a squirrel hat! I did a bit of snow exploring but I like my snow viewing best from the inside of my house.

December Daily - Pumpkin Brittle

December 8th

Every once a while, my Husband gets a wild hair.  Last night he decided to make pumpkin brittle. With Martha's help , he turned out some delicious brittle.

One of my Grandpa H's favorite candies was peanut brittle.  I think of homemade candy as a Christmas tradition.

December Daily - My Glittery Soul

I love my Shiny Brite collection. They make me happy.  I pulled these beauties out last week. I decided I have a glittery soul.  This is perhaps the most over top display I have ever done. Some of these Shiny Brites are from my Grandmother's collection and some from Nanna my husband's grandmother.

I used some of my Shiny Brites to accent my Nativity scene I put on my shelves.  This is a well worn Nativity scene. When my boys were little they would play with this wooden Nativity.

December Daily - Frosty

I think Canada opened her doors.  The cold air rushed down.  My little charge this morning came all bundled up.  We spent some time drawing snowmen and watched just a bit of Frosty the Snowman before we bundled up to walk to school.

We got what I call a "dusting of snow".  I can just hear my family in Colorado laughing. However when we were out and about yesterday evening, we saw these 2 snowmen in a parking lot.  We were amazed there was enough snow to even make snowmen.  Someone must of collected every bit of snow in the parking lot. We lit them up with our headlights so it wasn't really snowmen in the moonlight.

December Daily - Caching the Last of Fall

With snow predicted in the near future, we decided to get one last geocache.  One of the things, I enjoy most about Bellingham is all the trails. We parked and walked down the path to get this geocache. It was not looking a lot like Christmas but a lot like fall. This was a good way to stretch our legs.
