Can't Stop Creating- Leaf Creation

The other night I felt the need to create and the picture above is the result. The fall always leaves me feeling creative.  The darker crisper days. This leaf creation is crayon and watercolors (cheap kid kind)

The back is cool too. The idea is from The Colorful Art Palette

A Mazing (Corn Maze)

For our 22nd Anniversary, we decided to go visit a huge corn maze with the family.  We had never done that before.  The corn maze and farm we visited was Bob's Corn and Pumpkin Farm in Snohmish WA.  We were there for their opening weekend for all their attractions and on the first hayride of the season.

The maze is HUGE.  Luckily, my hubby was our guide with a map.  We would still be in there without a map.  It was a good workout walking the maze.

They even have bonfire area inside the maze for large groups. You can do this maze at night during the weekends during October.  I think that would be really spooky.

We finished our maze adventure with roasted corn dipped in butter (yum) and hot pumpkin donuts.

Layout was made using Digital Project Life.

Fallish Linky

It is starting to feel like fall here at last.  The rain has returned but not too much.  I love early fall in the Pacific Northwest.

Washington Bucket List - Anniversary Date

I have a little bucket list of things in Washington State that I would still like to do or see.  A crab cruise was on my list.

2 weeks ago in honor of our upcoming 22nd Wedding Anniversary, we went on a Sunset Crab Cruise on Bellingham Bay with San Juan Cruises. All summer long, I have had the brochure hanging on the fridge. We decided to pull the trigger on one of their last sailings for the season. It was raining up until we departed.  I was glad the rain stopped. I just couldn't stop taking sunset pictures.

We also saw some seals.  They kind of looked like slugs.

We had a great time and the meal was delicious - Crab, Chicken, Broccoli Salad, Potatoes, Bread Sticks, and Dessert.  There were quite a few people aboard celebrating their anniversary.

I completed my scrapbook page with Digital Project Life.

What I Read September

I am linking up with Modern Mrs Darcy's Quick Lit.  Check out what everyone else is reading!

I took Modern Mrs Darcy's Reading Personality Quiz and one of the books Recommended was Cafe by the Sea by Jenny Colgan.

I loved it.  The Setting is an Island in Scotland.  It is the perfect escape novel. Flora works in London after fleeing her home in Scotland is sent back on a special assignment for her boss. Of course, there is family drama and romance.

Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell

I thought this was a really thought provoking book. I guess it was my nerdy read of the fall.  If you have ever wondered what makes people successful, this book is for you.   There is stuff about when the best hockey players are born, why the Beattles became famous, and if valedictorians go on to be successful. All this and more is explored in this book. I kinda geek out on that kind of stuff. Gladwell presents the information in a accessible way.  I kept reading parts out aloud to my husband. This is the first book that the Seahawks Micheal Bennett picked for their book club.

Autism Linky

This is the place where I share all the articles, shows, or podcast suggestions about Autism that I found in the last few months.

There was a lot of buzz about Atypical on Netflix.  I watched.  I thought it was OK.  I can definitely understand the criticism.

If you love my child with a disability, please don't go easy on them - loved this quote - Disability advocate Karen Clay states, “The severity of one’s disability does not determine their level of potential. The greatest barriers that persons with disabilities have to overcome are not steps or curbs, it’s expectations.”

t-shirts with a message

Oh you know, how I love to browse Value Village t-shirt section for the highly weird and entertaining t-shirts.  I bring you the best of my summer browsing.  This just proves people will just put anything on a t-shirt.  Occasionally I wonder just what type of person would wear this shirt.  Enjoy!
